Brad is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, earning a BBA in Accounting and Finance in 2001 and an MSA in Accounting in 2002. Before joining SFP, Brad held positions at Mercantile Bank and Trust, Carson Private Capital, and Eagle Oil & Gas Co. Brad is a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and serves on its Endowment and Planned Giving committees. He has also dedicated time to mentoring SMU business undergraduate students through the Cox BBA Mentor Alliance.

Cody Cook

Cody Cook

Cody is responsible for investment activities across SFP’s public and private market investments, including portfolio construction, investment evaluation, and due diligence. Prior to joining SFP at its founding in 2013, Cody was a member of JCPenney’s Corporate Pension Group, which managed over $5 billion in plan assets.

Cody holds a BBA in Finance from Texas Christian University and an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas‐Fort Worth.

Houston has been involved with Sterling Family Partners since it was founded in 2013. Formerly a Land Manager at Eagle Oil & Gas Co., Houston was responsible for acquisitions and divestitures across various onshore basins for more than 10 years. Outside of the office, Houston serves on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Dallas and previously served as a co-chair of the 2021 “A Taste of West Dallas” event benefiting Wesley-Rankin Community Center. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a BBA in 2008, earning Academic All-Conference honors while competing in cross country and track and field for the Frogs.

Ross S. Bolin

Partner

Ross has been associated with Sterling Family Partners since it was founded in 2013. He joined Sterling Private Capital (SPC), an investment affiliate of Sterling Family Partners, in July 2014 and currently serves as a Managing Partner. SPC is a Dallas-based private equity firm focused on real estate and operating company investments. He is on the board of Dahlgren Duck, an SPC portfolio company, and previously served on the board of FISH Technologies, which was sold in November 2018. Prior to joining SPC, Ross was an analyst with Cibolo Capital Partners, a boutique private equity investment firm focused on acquiring small operating businesses. In 2011, Ross received his BBA from the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University, where he double majored in Finance and Accounting, minored in Energy Technology Management, and graduated on the Dean’s List. Ross is a member of the Touchdown Club of Dallas, a nonprofit benefiting the Ashford Rise School, and he currently serves as a board member for the SMU Mustang Club.

Pat has been Chairman of Sterling Family Partners since it was formed in 2013. He currently sits as Executive Chairman of Eagle Oil & Gas Co., which he co-founded with Warren T. Ayres in 1976. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, along with the Dallas Wildcat Committee. Additionally, Pat serves on the Board of Directors for several other organizations. In 2010, SMU’s Cox School of Business recognized Pat as its Distinguished Alumnus of the year.

Jane has been a member of Sterling Family Partners since its inception. A native of Mississippi, she graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BA. Jane is passionate about philanthropy in the Dallas-Fort Worth community and is not only a donor to various charities and organizations, but has also been involved in volunteerism and board-level activities for many years.

Warren T. Ayres

Warren is an executive vice president of Eagle Oil & Gas Co., which he co-founded with Pat S. Bolin in 1976 after graduating from Midwestern State University with a BBA. Warren is an active member of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers and numerous other community organizations in which he has served in various leadership roles.

In tandem with our business endeavors, the principals of Sterling Family Partners and their descendants have cultivated a genuine spirit of philanthropy for several generations.


Before partnering with any charitable organization, we perform due diligence with the same earnest intentionality as every business opportunity we evaluate.

Our roots are established in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which is where we focus our giving efforts on a thoughtful mix of local causes and organizations, including but not limited to:
